Services

 Demo fleet and boat try outs by appointment and free demonstration days with manufacturer representatives present. We have demo kayaks and canoes available for you to paddle. This is the best way to really figure out what you want and need in a boat. Our demos are small and personal, and you will be accompanied by one of our very knowledgable staff who have all paddled the boats you will be trying. We do charge a small fee (refundable on purchase of a boat within 1 year) for demos.

We schedule several free demonstration days each season. These demo days have lots of boats and gear to try and company reps present to help answer any questions and guide you towards the right boat or boats. Please call shop for details and times, and we do list these events on the website with details as we get them.

Demo paddles available from Werner and Bending Branches.  We also arrange this by appointment, and you are free to take the paddle and use it for several days. We do require a deposit which is returned when the paddle is returned in reasonable condition. In other words, you break it, you buy it.

We offer repair services for kayaks and canoes on an appointment basis. Gel coat repair and refinishing, rudder and skeg repair, structural repairs and modifications are some typical services we routinely provide.  Labor is charged on an hourly basis, and we will give a reasonable estimate for labor and parts before any work is done. We also provide referrals for work we are not equipped to do, such as major dry suit repair or paddle rebuilds and modifications.

We also do skills training for kayaks of all shapes and sizes. We have experienced and competent personnel on staff trained and certified by the British Canoe Union in kayaking instruction and skills training.

 Classes range from indoor pool classes in rescue and reentry techniques for sit inside kayaks and sit on top kayaks, to bracing and eskimo rolling instruction indoors and out. We also work with sit on top kayaks and surfskis and skills essential for open ocean safety. Please call shop for details, schedule and reservations.
